ICC Incoterm Rules The International Chamber of Commerce is the largest, most representative business organization in the world. Its over 45 million members in over 100 countries have interests spanning every sector of private enterprise. ICC has three main activities: rule setting, dispute resolution, and policy advocacy. The Incoterms® rules are a globally-recognised set of standards, used worldwide in international and domestic contracts for the delivery of goods. The rules have been developed and maintained by experts and practitioners brought together by ICC. They have become the standard in international business rules setting. The trade terms help traders avoid costly misunderstandings by clarifying the tasks, costs and risks involved in the delivery of goods from sellers to buyers. The Incoterms® rules are recognised by UNCITRAL as the global standard for the interpretation of the most common terms in foreign trade. Launched in September 2019, Incoterms® 2020 will come into effect on 1 January 2020. Dispute resolution services When commercial disputes arise, ICC’s market leading dispute resolution services can be relied on to resolve them as efficiently and economically as possible. We offer a wide choice of administered procedures as an alternative to litigation for resolving domestic and international disputes. What’s more, our globally accessible and completely neutral services are available to anyone: from individuals and private sector enterprises to states and state entities.
